Vintage Pair of Bausch & Lomb 7x35 Zephyr Binoculars with Carrying Case These binoculars were produced by Bausch & Lomb of Rochester N.Y and probably date from between 1948-50’s because they were still made in their facility in Rochester N.Y.
Zephrys were the Bausch and Lomb commercial brand for the binocular line post World War II. In the late 60’s they moved their production to Japan, so the ones with the stamp made in USA are from earlier years.
The 1948 Catalog describes them as – Lightest in weight and most compact, recommended for the race track, football, and other sports.
They come with Leather Carrying Case, the leather is in great condition but the zipper around it needs to be sewn back .
The binoculars do have a few scratches on the paint due to their age but the lenses are scratch free and overall the binoculars are in great condition. They include the original catalog.
They belonged to my husband’s grandfather who loved to go out in the woods and watch birds with them.
They are really light and ergonmic design fits in your hands just right!
