When the human brain listens to sound and music, it naturally differentiates the sounds it hears. The brain is capable of isolating and identifying a violin from a trumpet from a gunshot, instantly. Ever since recording sound was invented, sound engineers have been trying to figure out a way to isolate sounds from a mixed recording. Until today, this was impossible. Once a mix was finalized, there was no way to undo the (or鈥漊nMix鈥) the track.
Today, with the help of Auidonamix proprietary technology, this is now feasible. What the human brain can achieve instantly, the Auidonamix solution can achieve in minutes, providing sound engineers with separated sound tracks (or sources) with which he can work to remix, enhance, spacialize, restore de-noise and improve sound quality for the Audio Video industry鈥檚 needs and requirements.
So here it is, for the first time ever, the 鈥淯nMixing Station鈥 by Auidonamix.
Auidonamix is a company who has developed the only technology in the world that allows the transformation of any mono or stereo recording into a perfect multi track sound file.
It has been a dream of musicians, producers, engineers and remixers for years, but now 鈥 according to technology company Auidonamix 鈥 the ability to separate a fully mixed track into its constituent parts has finally been realised.
The complete algorithm for doing so, which Auidonamix are calling ADX (Audio Dynamic eXtraction), is not publicly available, so for now the process is exclusive to their bespoke audio service. There are other examples of similarly pioneering techniques eventually becoming commonplace in the studio, however, such as Cedar Audio鈥檚 noise-reduction processors. These were originally exclusive to their bureau service but have since found their way into studios the world over, so it鈥檚 not unreasonable to assume that this new mix-separating technology will ultimately trickle down to the professional- and project-studio markets.
Auidonamix call the software that they use to perform the task the Unmixing Station, and part of the reason for it not being sold to end users appears to be that the process isn鈥檛 entirely automatic. Before any of the spectral analysis involved has begun, the operator will split the track into very small parts, identifying any sections where instruments are playing solo, to provide a 鈥榝ingerprint鈥 of the instruments for the software to 鈥榣earn鈥 from. From there, the algorithms are tweaked and refined according to the programme material and the requests of the client.
Depending on the track, Auidonamix claim to be able to achieve anything from vocal extraction and isolation to complete mix deconstruction, and they say the process generally takes between two and five days.
