PrintShop Mail is an application for variable printing. PrintShop Mail does only one job. It personalizes layouts. Using familiar layout and database tools, create the layout and manage the necessary data. Then let PrintShop Mail do the rest. The document layout is sent to the RIP only once, and variables (the personalization), text, or graphics are exchanged at high speed.
This technology enables output at a maximum speed on any PostScript printer. The RIP plays an important role in the overall speed of the process. High-volume mailings and sophisticated layouts cannot be created with word processors. In such a solution every single page will be generated, transported over the network, and processed separately before finally being RIP-ed and printed. This might be practical with one hundred addresses, but higher volumes inevitably block the entire production site for hours on end. PrintShop Mail is the answer to that problem.
One of the biggest advantages of PrintShop Mail is the seamless inclusion of colors and fonts into documents. Use any font, in any style, size, and direction (including bar codes and OCR-B fonts). The Macintosh version also allows the user to apply variable images such as signatures and photos.
